We take our breathing for granted and may forget how breathing well can improve help us to feel calm and relaxed, lower our blood pressure and aid digestion. Breathing well has many other advantages and is quick and easy to do. Breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth imagine your belly as a balloon, when you breathe in imagine your belly filling with air and getting pushed out. On the exhale, the balloon contracts. It can help to place your hands on your belly to feel the rise and fall. Try for a minute or two and gradually build up to aid relaxation.
