Today on Calon FM, we spoke about the latest research into Mindfulness-based CBT for preventing depression relapse.  I mentioned some books which I shall briefly review here.

The Mindful way through depression is a 8 week program with theory, case studies, a meditation CD and with experiential exercises throughout.  The first 10 chapters go through the program and chapter 11 addresses the practices for the 8 week course, with a helpful “daily practice” guide and synopsis of each chapter and the week it refers to and a “pleasant events calendar” template.  There is a lot of reading involved so an ability to concentrate for the (approx) 20 pages per chapter is a requirement.
