Treating ourselves with kindness is a vital part of looking after ourselves, and it is something that only we can do for ourselves.  This is not self-indulgence or giving into desires which pop up.  Self-care is about compassionate behaviour towards oneself and includes rest, exercise and sharing quality time with family and friends- a balance to life. Very often we can look after others and forget about ourselves and our needs until we become stressed or ill or develop pain.  Put yourself higher up your list of priorities and enjoy life a bit more!
