Kim, a Wrexham Counsellor, believes the courage to feel vulnerable is helpful.

Numbing ourselves emotionally to deal with uncomfortable feelings can cause long-term psychological damage.  This is because vulnerability is identified as something shameful rather than as a nautural human experience.  Indeed vulnerability is courage and our vulnerability can be shared with our children (in an age-appropraite way) to demonstrate through example that feelings are OK and normal even if they are painful or uncomfortable.  To feel pain is to be human, and should never be confused with weakness.  Vulnerability is strength and courage and builds resilience to face life’s difficulties.
